Meet us in Charleston, SC this weekend January 19-24

I love Charleston. A good motorcycle friend moved down to Mount Pleasant in the 'burbs of Charleston about 15 years ago. We visit often, staying on the Isle of Palms at a little hotel on the beach next to Windjammers. There is plenty to do on the two islands Isle of Palms and Sullivan. Biking, surfing, throwing frisbee on the beach. The later Sullivan is home to Poe's Tavern, a great place for craft beer and an awesome burger. This weekend we are down for a wedding at a country club on Daniel Island on Saturday but our extended visit is to visit every craft brewery in and around Charleston. They really make some good beer down here, paired with steamed shrimp and grilled oysters, heaven. We print for a nano brewery Tradesman Brewing that we plan on visiting first along with Ghost Monkey. Coast, Edmunds Oast, Freehouse, Frothy Beard, Holy City, Palmetto, Revelry, Westbrook breweries are all close to town. Oak Road Brewing is outside of town in Summerville and the newest one of the group. They are a new customer to us and we can't wait to meet them and have a pint. The brewer went to school at University of Maryland where I hung out in the 80's and he met his wife at Towson Univ. in, er, Towson.
I'm having a copper uKeg shipped to my buddy Don so we can demonstrate and take some craft brew back to the hotel. Did I mention we are traveling with 9 other people from Baltimore for this wedding? It's going to be loud, and a load of fun. The only thing more fun would be to ride down there on the bike. But, that will have to wait til March when we head down south again for BikeWeek in Daytona. Cheers.
